# Troubleshoot uploads and processing

> Separate a local recording problem from an upload, chapter, transcript, rendition, or playback processing failure.

Keep local recovery files until the capture is ready. A pending upload can still be retried; check the library before starting another recording so you do not create duplicates.

**Upload failed.** Confirm connectivity, workspace membership, creator allowance and recording-link status. For CLI uploads, run `tekma record status`, `tekma doctor` and `tekma auth status`. A local recording has no upload result by design.

**The video is ready but chapters or transcript are missing.** Refresh after processing completes. Silent recordings can have chapters but no transcript. Use the retry action when the capture reports a processing failure; correcting text is separate from rerunning processing.

**Quality choices are missing.** Use **Original** while streaming renditions are still processing. A small source does not produce a larger rendition. Try **Auto** or a lower available quality on a slow connection.

**An import fails.** Confirm FFmpeg/ffprobe, a required original page URL, supported PNG/JPEG/WebP image bytes, and the trace timing requirements. Use `tekma import resume` only when the CLI reports a resumable checkpoint.
