# Playback, chapters, and transcripts

> Navigate Tekma videos with automatic chapters, searchable transcripts, captions, and adaptive streaming quality.

Tekma organizes recordings into sections so a viewer can reach the relevant moment without watching every second. The same recording navigation is available on shared links.

## Jump between chapters

The video timeline is divided at chapter boundaries. Select a section to seek within the recording, or open the current chapter control beside the time display to choose a chapter by name.

Chapter titles describe the activity in that section. They are generated automatically for new recordings; there is no setting you need to enable first.

## Search the transcript

When the recording contains speech, open the transcript panel to read the timed text. Search for a phrase, then select the matching passage to jump to that moment. Captions show the spoken text alongside playback when available.

A transcript represents speech. Silent recordings can have meaningful visual chapters without a fabricated transcript. If a recording has no speech, an empty transcript is expected.

## Adjust playback quality

Use the quality control to select **Auto**, **Original**, or an available streaming resolution. Tekma can provide 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, and 240p versions, depending on the original video.

**Auto** adapts streaming quality to playback conditions. Lower resolutions can help on a slow connection. Tekma does not upscale a small original to create higher-resolution options.

The original remains usable while streaming versions are being prepared. If a streaming version is unavailable, use **Original**. Changing quality preserves your position and playback settings.

## Review technical context

On a workspace capture, inspect the console and network panels alongside the video. On a shared link, these panels are available only when debugging context is included. Selecting a timed diagnostic entry can take you to the corresponding moment.

## Correct an inaccurate section

Automatic generation can misinterpret a screen or a spoken phrase. A person with editing permission can [correct the chapter or transcript](/recording/editing). Treat generated descriptions as navigation aids and verify important details against the video.
