# Organize captures with folders

> Create folders, move captures, share selected work, and understand inherited access.

Folders organize captures inside a workspace. They do not automatically grant access. Workspace membership, folder members and capture share settings still apply.

## Create and use a folder

From **Library → All captures**, create a folder and give it a clear name. Open a folder from the sidebar, or choose **Unfiled** in the library filter. Move a capture from its action menu or the folder picker. The library can also filter by capture kind, status, creator, source and recording-link submissions.

## Share selected work

Owners can manage folder access and, where enabled, create a folder share. A folder share shows only captures that are currently eligible for that folder audience. Moving a capture or changing membership can remove it from a previously visible list. Tightening access can make an existing public folder link stop resolving; treat folder links as bearer access.

Open the folder's access dialog and choose **Everyone in workspace** or **Selected members**. Select the people, then choose **Save**; with no selected members, owners remain the only people with access. After saving selected-member mode, the owner can use **Invite by email**. A new invitee receives the workspace role selected by the owner with the folder grant applied; an existing member keeps their workspace role while receiving the narrower folder access.

## Move or delete a folder

Moving a capture to **Unfiled** removes its folder destination but does not delete it. Switching a folder back to **Everyone in workspace** can reopen existing public capture links whose audience was inherited from that folder. When deleting a folder, leave **Permanently delete captures in this folder** unchecked to keep captures as Unfiled; checking it purges the folder's captures, including captures already in Trash, and cannot be undone.

Use [library and Trash](/workspace/organize) for capture lifecycle and [share controls](/sharing/links) for individual links.
