Privacy settings apply to new captures. They do not rewrite recordings or screenshots already saved. Owners can configure them under Settings → Privacy.

Configure workspace rules

The Privacy page has three controls:
  • Network policy applies to listed domains. Choose Normal capture, Hide request and response bodies, or Skip network requests for those domains.
  • Email redaction can hide addresses in diagnostic text, including URLs, console output, actions and network bodies. It does not blur an address visible in a video pixel.
  • Visual masking accepts CSS selectors for sensitive page elements. Test selectors on the page; valid syntax does not guarantee that a selector matches the rendered content.
Save the rules and start a new capture. Connected extensions can cache rules for up to ten minutes, and an offline extension can retain older rules.

Know what each mode protects

The extension applies supported privacy filtering to visual and diagnostic capture. Default artifact masking, protected elements and connected-site protected recording can hide supported source content before it enters the final capture. Input values are not recorded as action text. The CLI records the browser it is given and does not provide element-level visual redaction, so use synthetic data or local mode for demonstrations. Imported images and videos keep the source content; inspect metadata before importing. Instant Replay is a bounded DOM replay, not background video. Its masking and origin rules are still required, and crop is not redaction. See Instant Replay.

AI and sharing

New video recordings automatically receive chapters and transcripts through the configured processing service. Silent recordings can still receive chapters. The Permit AI titles, reports and member actions setting controls additional titles, summaries, reproduction steps and member-requested actions; it does not turn built-in chapter/transcript processing into a promise that sensitive content is absent. AI results are generated from the evidence retained for that capture, with extension-supported masking where that path provides it. CLI and imported media are supplied as recorded and are not automatically element-redacted. Results can be incomplete; review them like any other report text. Public shares can include chapters and transcripts when generated; member-only summaries and requester-specific analysis stay behind their documented access boundary. Choose Without DevTools to share visual context only. Choose With DevTools when the recipient needs console or network evidence. Neither mode removes secrets already visible in video or audio. Use test accounts, review the actual result, and revoke links when the investigation ends. See diagnostics and share access.
